Getting to Know the Ferrari SF20 Stradale

When you think of Ferrari, you think of spot-from-miles-away red-colored beasts that are solely loved for their performance. You also don’t think of electric or hybrid models for Ferrari. But the car manufacturer might just be on the corner of change. There is a huge price tag attached to the Ferrari SF90 Stradale, and for the ones that are willing to pay that amount, the deliverance and performance are just as mind-blowing.

Getting to Know the Ferrari SF20 Stradale

Safety
The standard safety features on the Ferrari SF90 Stradale cover all the basics, like rain-sensing wipers, reverse parking sensors, rearview camera, and automatic LED matrix headlights. It also includes dual front airbags under its standard safety package. Additionally, Ferrari has also started using some advanced assistance features for drivers. The SF90 ADAS package includes blind-spot monitoring, pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, and cross-traffic alert. All these features are made possible because of electro-chromatic mirrors and front and rear radars.

Infotainment
Ferrari’s SF90 Stradale is fitted with a 16-inch curved digital display that covers all the basic entertainment features you would expect to be present in a car. It covers your Bluetooth, navigation, and radio needs. However, the system is compatible only with Apple CarPlay leaving out Android Auto. The passenger side of the infotainment station is equipped with the basics to keep one entertained, while the diver side is full of all the performance and safety controls.

Features
Ferrari buyers don’t have a wide range of features to compare. The Italian manufacturer provides a compact feature list and excels at it. These include power windows, power-adjustable seats, keyless central locking, a nose lift system, and parking sensors. A rearview camera, voice activation, cruise control, and dual-zone climate control are other necessities it takes care of.

Space
The mid-mounted engine in the Ferrari SF90 Stradale equates to smaller cargo space. This factor explains the paltry space of 2.6 cubes on this car. The rear isn’t all that better since it only delivers a space of 0.7 cubic feet.

Internal storage seems to be doing better than the cargo space you would appreciate on a car like the SF90 Spyder. You will see a cramped glovebox, cupholders in front of the gear selector controls, and narrow storage beneath the armrest.

Engine
The Stradale is home to one of the most potent eight-cylinder engines Ferrari has ever used in their cars. It comes with a 3.99-liter V8 engine that produces 769 horsepower. The engine also sports twin turbochargers and delivers 590 lb-ft of torque. The car has three additional electric motors, two in the front, and the third exists between the engine and the transmission to cover up any turbo lag.

Such a distribution allows the deliverance of exceptional performance free of lags and torque shortcomings thanks to the engine combination. While there are Ferraris that could perform better than this one, its torque-filling ability and the absence of turbo-lag are not something that can be found easily. Some might find the car’s quietness a little disturbing considering it is a Ferrari and delivers close to 1000 horsepower but rest assured, it is worth the money.

Fuel Economy
When considering its gas-only output, performance on the Stradale is estimated to be 18 mpg. However, when you consider the hybrid models, it can go up to 51 MPGe. EPA estimates for electric models is 330 miles of total range. The company has refrained from making any claims about how long the electric engine takes to juice up.

Reliability
If you put aside its complexity for a minute, the Ferrari SF90 Stradale is a reliable machine. The car comes with a 7-year maintenance plan. It also covers the regular maintenance that is to be scheduled at a gap of 12 months or 12,400 miles. The limited powertrain warranty plans provide coverage for three years or unlimited miles.
