BMW 5 Series: Versions

The BMW 5 Series is among the best selling models of the company second only to the 3 Series. The first 5 Series model was launched in the form of a sedan. In 1991, the station wagon style was introduced. Finally, in the year 2009, the 5 Series Gran Turismo was launched. BMW 5 Series recently entered into the seventh generation with the release of the BMW G30. A few versions of the 2017 BMW 5 Series model are:

  • BMW 540i Sedan : This dynamic car goes from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.1 seconds approximately and consumes around 6.5 to 6.9 liters of fuel per 100 km. The carbon dioxide emission is roughly 149 to 159 grams per km.
  • BMW M550i xDrive Sedan : Being the sports version of the 5 Series model, the fuel consumption of this car is close to 8.9 to 9.1 liters per 100 km. CO2 emissions are approximately 2014 to 209 grams per km.
  • BMW M550d xDrive Sedan : This is more fuel efficient than the M550 version as it consumes around 5.9 to 6.1 liters per 100 km and emits only 154 to 159 grams of carbon dioxide per km approximately.
  • BMW 530e I Performance : Having concern for the environment, BMW released the most environment-friendly version of the G30 series. It runs on electric power consuming roughly 13.1 to 14.1 kWh per 100 km. The fuel consumption is limited to 1.9 to 2.1 liters per 100 km and CO2 emissions to 44 to 49 grams per km approximately.
  • BMW 520d Efficient Dynamics Editions : This car is a combination of luxury as well as efficiency. It consumes 3.9 liters of fuel per 100 km and emits carbon dioxide worth 102 grams per km effectively. It jumps from 0 to 100 km/h in only 7.5 seconds

Apart from these, there are various other options available in petrol and diesel variants such as the 530i sedan (petrol), 520d xDrive, 530d xDrive, 540d xDrive (diesel). All in all, the BMW 5 Series G 30 series is better than its predecessor–F 10 series in every aspect. From performance to design to efficiency, it offers a fascinating driving experience.
